Just finished nursing school and I'm trying to land something at a private clinic instead of a hospital, the pay difference is honestly wild once you compare offers. Sent my resume out to a handful of places and one actually got back to me for an interview. Never done anything like this before though, what kind of questions usually come up and how should I prepare?

Private clinics tend to interview a bit differently than hospitals do, they're often smaller teams so they're looking just as much at how you'll fit in day to day as they are at your clinical knowledge. Expect a mix of behavioral questions about handling stress or conflict with coworkers, plus some scenario based ones where they walk you through a patient situation and see how you'd respond. Bringing a couple specific examples from clinicals helps a lot since new grads don't have work stories to pull from yet.

Body language and confidence carry more weight than the actual medical knowledge in these interviews, especially for a new grad who doesn't have years of experience to point back to. Reviewing common scenarios ahead of time helps you sound less rehearsed and more like you actually know what you're talking about. You can read up on new grad RN interview questions here https://roundlyhq.com/blog/new-grad-rn-interview-questions/ . It breaks down the kinds of clinical and behavioral questions that come up most for new grads specifically, so you're not walking in blind. Worth going through a few out loud beforehand too, saying answers out loud hits different than just reading them in your head.
